March 10, 2010 PTC Meeting Minutes
The PTC met on March 10, 2010 at 6:00 PM. Those
present were Anson and Tammi Burke, Didi Grow, Andrea
LaValley, Terri O'Keefe, Kathy Behrens and Candace
O'Neill.
The item discussed was the chocolate bar sale. No
one had volunteered to sell bars at Wal-mart for the
weekend of March 13 and 14, and it is supposed to rain.
It was decided to cancel selling bars on that weekend
and focus on filling the slots available for the last
weekend of March.
Next the group discussed the coming April fundraiser.
First Mrs. Behrens advised that a "tricky tray" or
"theme basket" would be made as an example for parents.
Then parents who sent their tray would be entered into a
drawing for that prize. Members suggested instead
to offer several free tickets for the silent auction to
any family who brought in a tray.
There was much to discuss about the April 25 Pork
Roast Dinner and Dance. Members
discussed tickets, how many volunteers would be needed
and for what, and advertising. Mrs. Behrens will
be discussing the event with Cafeteria Manager, Val
Terry, before deciding ticket prices.
It was decided to advertise in the area church
bulletins, at Grassmere and Laurel Terrace, at the Beach
Street Community Center, and as well as all the normal
places, and to possibly through Meals on Wheels.
Tickets can be sold after the Masses starting the Sunday
after church, as well as at BINGO, and of course,
through school. The school would offer to deliver
meals in the Massena area.
Next, Terri O'Keefe advised that she would no longer be
able to organize cafeteria volunteers after this year.
She wanted to give enough notice, so she could train a
new person for the new school year.
Lastly, Candace O'Neill discussed this year's Bike
Rally. She advised that classes are working
currently to come up with the slogan for this year's
T-shirt. She plans to have the new slogan ready
for Wednesday, March 17, when the T-shirt design contest
will begin. The contest will again be open
to families this year and will end on March 31.
The PTC committee will then choose the top 5 designs and
THIS year the designs will be posted on the website, so
that families can vote together for the new design.
She advised that she needs help with the Rally since all
of her committee moved on to the Middle School this
year. Terri O'Keefe and Andrea LaValley offered to
help.
Members discussed how to get new Trinity families to
become involved with the PTC, since more people are
needed to keep the special events going.
The next meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, April 21.
The meeting adjourned at 7:45 PM.
