This is Mrs. Giroux from Trinity Catholic School with some important news. Last week I asked you to complete an online questionnaire so that we could get your feedback regarding our re-opening plans in September. Roughly ½ of our families responded. While the information we received was helpful, we now need to take it to the next level. Our re-opening committee needs to get feedback from all of our families, so that we can insure that we are meeting the needs of everyone.
Let me explain. Although we are still exploring all our options, as of right now, there is a possibility that Massena Central may do a hybrid model of learning for this school year which involves 4 days of in school learning with 1 day at home instruction. At Trinity, we are hoping to be in the building all 5 days, but that means that there will not be busing available 1 day a week. So, we need to know if you choose to have your child on site in Trinity, can you transport your child for that 1 day a week?
We also found out from our 1st questionnaire that some parents are concerned about the safety of sending their child to a school building and would prefer a distance learning option. We need to know about that as well as we move forward and to try to plan just how many children will be in our building so we can socially distance correctly and provide adequate staffing. Please know that if necessary, we will split our larger classes so we can follow the CDC guidelines. Also, our distance learning plan will not look the same as what we did in the Spring. Distance learning provides an opportunity to view and participate in real time while at home, with those students and the teacher in the classroom.
So what do we need you to do? Our 2nd questionnaire will be on our webpage, Facebook page and Instagram page tomorrow. We will also be mailing out a hard copy of our questionnaire tomorrow to all families, in case you prefer to fill it out and mail it back rather than doing it online. But, our re-opening committee does need to hear from every family by this Friday, July 24, as we must submit our re-opening plan to the State by Friday, July 31.
Remember, God willing, this is just for one year…one school year. I am thankful for all of your flexibility as we move forward to continue to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. We at Trinity firmly believe that it is our calling and mission to be at Trinity Catholic School. We are here to serve you and truly want to meet your needs and the needs of your children. Please keep Trinity in your prayers as we continue to pray for you and your families.
