Visitation Day

We look forward to seeing you and your children on Monday, August 29 for Visitation Day!  Choose one of two sessions – 11:30 – 12:30 or 6:00 – 7:00 – to bring in your child’s school supplies and meet their teacher!

The Diocese of Ogdensburg has planned a beautiful, daylong event at the Olympic Center for all Catholics and friends of the Church.  The Summit has been designed to help us appreciate our respective vocations—whether we’re married or single, ordained or religious. Scheduled for September 25, the event even includes a Youth Rally for students from the 6th to 12th grade, and exciting (and vocation themed) child care activities for everyone younger (presuming that they are potty-trained!). Bussing is available on a first come, first served basis.  Click here to register for the summit and call the parish office at 769-2469 to get your seat on the bus!

Volunteers: Important InformationVolunteer hands

There will be VIRTUS® training on Thursday, September 15 at 5:30 p.m. at Trinity Catholic School. Anyone attending MUST register by clicking here. Anyone who volunteers at Trinity must go through the VIRTUS® program. By watching a video and through discussion, attendees learn how to spot abuse and what to do if they do.

Change in Medication Policy

Our nurse, Sandra Sweet, recently sent home a letter regarding a change in the way New York State is handling medications for students in school.  Please be aware that items such as cough drops, pain relievers, antibiotic ointments, etc. MAY NOT BE ADMINISTERED to children UNLESS parents have provided those items for the students along with a doctor’s order and written permission from them.

In other words, if you have a child who often gets upset stomachs, headaches, and/or coughs, you may want to consider bringing in the aforementioned items and paperwork just in case they have a problem this year.

PTC MeetingParent Teacher Connection

If you would like a fun way to help out at TCS while getting to know other parents, please join us for our first Parent Teacher Connection (PTC) meeting on September 13 at 6:30 pm in the Library.  Our PTC helps out with events such as our Halloween party, Massena Winter Carnival parade, Catholic Schools’ Week, Play Day and Bike Rally.

Head-Lice-770x288On the Look Out…for Lice

It’s that time of year where we need to keep a look out for those little critters….lice!  Please take a look at this link from the American Academy of Dermatology to see how to see the signs and symptoms of lice, as well as the best ways to treat it.  We will keep this link on our nurse’s page all year long…just in case!

 No Breakfast Availableno-breakfast2

Just as a reminder, the Education Council has decided it best for Trinity Catholic not to offer breakfast for the 2016-2017 school year, because we are losing money due to a lack of participation.  Please call the school office with any questions regarding this change.

curriculum_nightWe look forward to having you join us for Curriculum Night, this Thursday, September 29 at 6:30 PM. If you are new to Trinity, this is the perfect opportunity for you to learn all about TCS, especially ways you can get involved and become a part of our family! We look forward to meeting you. If you are a more “experienced” Trinity family, you will learn what your child’s teachers expect of him/her this year. Don’t miss it!
